The
very first English Singing Contest was taking place in Chu Jen Junior High school on November 15th,
a total of 40 schools, even including Li Shan Junior High School, participating this main event, featuring a
marvelous music feast for the audience to enjoy.
The
idea of the contest itself is to arouse students’ interest in learning English
by involving them in a more dynamic and interesting activity like this, in the
hope that every student can have fun learning English and build up vocabulary,
speaking skills as well.
English
pronunciation, intonation and singing skills account most of the judges’
evaluation of each school’s performance, while other irrelevant stuff, like
props, gestures and dancing, is out of their consideration. The final result is
a unanimous decision by five college professors based on their own expertise.
On
behalf of the Advisory Group, I want to congratulate all the dedicated
instructors and students on your outstanding performances. Also, let’s not
forget the efforts of the host that made this happen.
